Overview

Bringing together ARMY, scholars, and music industry professionals in a supportive and inclusive space to talk, debate and share ideas about BTS.

In 2020, over 100 people from across 30 countries came to Kingston University outside of London to attend the first BTS: Global Interdisciplinary Conference. Researchers, scholars, and fans alike who have an affection for BTS gathered together to analyze the BTS phenomenon from an academic perspective and to exchange insights.

The conference sought to highlight cultural studies, psychology, anthropology, art theory, media studies, philosophy, literature, linguistics, politics, international relations, performance art, culture, mental health awareness, identities, and intersectional practices: gender, sexuality, race, age, dis/ability, education, and the list goes on.

Since its inception, the BTS Conference has been held yearly in a selective city by the International Society for BTS Studies (ISBS) board and committee members. As part of the Marketing committee, we work on the best promotional strategies to announce the conference via social media and invite media members from the K-Pop industry and the host city's top media outlets, such as Yonhap News, the Korean Herald, Korea Joongang Daily, Arirang News, and more.
